All of my friends know this salmon spread, it’s a classic when having dinner at my place! It’s a very easy to prepare recipe and only needs a few ingredients; perfect when you prepared a full homemade dinner and don’t want to serve industrial sh*** to your guests for appetizers!
I used to prepare this spread recipe with smoked salmon and tried a lot of twists before I got a satisfying recipe. This version is way more flavorful, believe me it’s always a success
And the best thing about this spread recipe is that it can be declined in many ways, with other kinds of fish, other herbs and spices… I’ll share more variations with you, feel free to share back your versions in the comment section!

Salmon in dill spread recipe
Preparation time: 8 minutes – Cooking time : 8 minutes
Ingredients (for 4 to 6 persons)
8 oz (225 g) of cream cheese
6 oz (170 g) of salmon fillet (with skin)
2 tablespoons of fresh dill
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Salt and pepper
1/ Pour olive oil in a frying pan and heat over medium low heat.
2/ Once oil is hot, add salmon on skin side. Cover and leave for about 4 minutes, then turn on the other side for 2 minutes and finish cooking on the skin side. Let it cool down a little.
3/ Wash and dry dill thoroughly. Chop finely.
4/ Take salmon skin off and check for remaining fish bones.
5/ In a large bowl, crush salmon with a fork. Add cream cheese and combine well.
6/ Add dill little by little combining well each time until you’re satisfied with the flavor. Season with salt and pepper.
Keep refrigerated and serve with bread, blinis or as a nice dip with fresh veggies. Note: if you want to use it as a dip, you should use more cream cheese when preparing this recipe so you get a softer dip texture.
